KATAJO(18)How Different is the New Year Holiday in Japan and Indonesia?;型ジョ(18)日本/インドネシアの年末年始比較

2024.01.23

Hello!

This is Maru (マル) and Putti (プッティ) from Head Office!

Happy New Year everyone! (^^)

It is getting cold in Tokyo now! Please be careful not to catch a cold!

Putti(プッティ):

This is my first time spending the year-end and new year season in Japan. Even though it is cold, there are things that I like during this season: illumination!

Illumination is a lamp installation in a tree or somewhere in a public area. It gives a warm feeling when we are outside. We can find many interesting and pretty illuminations around the town. For example, this is the illumination in Roppongi and Enoshima!

Maru(マル):

There is also a Christmas tree illumination near Akasaka Station. Some of the Design Department members took photos there during the year-end holiday (^^).

Putti(プッティ): Oh! Looks fun! (≧▽≦)

Talking of year-end and new year holiday, I can feel the difference between Japan and Indonesia. I think the new year is louder and more lively in Indonesia. People light up fireworks and blow trumpets to celebrate the new year.

Maru(マル):

Yes! It is almost like a fireworks festival and matsuri during summer in Japan. Most of the people have a barbeque party outside while lighting up the fireworks. Everyone in the town stayed up until late and the town was lively through the night.

Putti(プッティ):

In Japan, I hear most people choose to spend New Year’s Eve in their houses watching TV and having meals while Indonesian people love to go outside to celebrate. Maybe it is because of the warmer temperature in Indonesia.

Maru(マル):

That’s right. During the cold weather on New Year’s Eve, I also prefer to stay at home rather than go outside!( ˙▿˙ )

Happy New Year, everyone! This year also, let’s do our best! I am so excited for the upcoming things ahead. We hope we are always healthy throughout the year.

今年もよろしくお願いします!
