This is Maru (マル) and Putti (プッティ) from Head Office!

June is the rainy season in Japan. In Tokyo, it is getting warmer during the day, but still a little cold sometimes in the evening. 

Putti:

We are going to talk about our visit to Akita Prefecture! It was my first time visiting Akita Prefecture. How about you, Maru-san?

Maru:

Actually, it was my second time. Previously, I have been on a business trip to the Omagari Factory (大曲工場).  But, I think this time was different, because I could see many other interesting things in Akita Prefecture.

Putti:

This time, we went  with some Head Office team members. We departed from Tokyo in the morning by shinkansen, and it took about 3.5 hours. 

Maru:

The train stopped at Omagari Station. We can see the Omagari Factory from the train.

Omagari in Daisen City is famous for its fireworks festival (大曲花火大会). We looked forward to seeing the firework festival at night!(ﾉ´ヮ`)ﾉ*: ･ﾟ

Putti:

It is also called one of the biggest fireworks festivals in Japan! I have been to several fireworks festivals in Tokyo last year, and I think this is the biggest and the most beautiful that I have ever seen! („• ᴗ •„)

Maru:

Yes! This fireworks festival also will be held in summer (around August). I hope other members also can come to Omagari and enjoy the festival!

Putti:

On the next day, we visited Akita Port. It is located on the western coast of Akita Prefecture, around 20 minutes by car from Akita Station. In Akita Port, there are industrial park, the iconic Selion Tower, and offshore wind power projects.

The highlight of this visit is to learn about the offshore wind power project. We can see the projects as we climb the Akita Port Selion Tower. It is the first large-scale offshore wind power project on a commercial basis in Japan, implemented by The Akita Offshore Wind Corporation.

In the future, there are possibilities for KMF to contribute and expand the company’s business through this wind power project.
